The state park is located on the edge of a bluff overlooking the valley that the San Juan River carved over the years, and it makes for striking scenery. Not all flat spots are sites. Some campsites get shade for part of the day, but many get no shade at all. Springdale is adjacent to Zion Canyon; pay showers, small markets, firewood, laundromats, a limited medical clinic, and restaurants are available. Selecting a campsite is usually on a first come first serve basis. A campsite is rented ONLY once it has been paid in full with the pay-stub properly completed and displayed on site and the site is occupied by campers.

Reservations are needed as the campground is full every night during the reservation season. The Virgin River flows through it all, changing colors from neon aquamarine to milky silt depending on the rainfall. Only one RV or trailer is allowed. Nice off leash dog park.

The Virgin River runs along the edge of each campground; there are a few riverside campsites. Dispersed camping is allowed on public land for a period not to exceed 14 days within a 28 consecutive day period. The state park is located on the edge of a bluff overlooking the valley that the San Juan River carved over the years, and it makes for striking scenery. Its cool waters provide some of Utah's finest year-round fishing. At night, you can take in the beautiful, starry skies from your site and during the day see beautiful mountain vistas.
